Norco College newspaper a budget casualty - DAYNA STRAEHLEY, Press-Enterprise

Norco College’s student newspaper and the journalism course that produces it will close for 2012-13 to save money. The college must cut $980,000 from its own budget. The almost $23,000 course and newspaper, called The Norco Voice, were among the more expensive of lots of small budget cuts that a strategic planning council voted to recommend to the college president, said Diane Dieckmeyer, interim vice president for academic affairs at Norco College. The Riverside Community College District and its three colleges, Norco, Riverside City and Moreno Valley, are in the fourth year of significant budget reductions and the cuts keep getting harder to find, district spokesman Jim Parsons said.
