The Board of Regents released new numbers Saturday that break down potential cuts to Louisiana's public universities. HB 1 approved by the House Friday would chop $225 million from higher education. The LSU system would lose $97,655,806 in general funds or 23.5% of the money LSU gets from the state. The Southern University system would lose $18,784,002 or 32.7% of their state funding. The UL system stands to lose $105,787,574 or 31.5% of their state money. The Louisiana Community and Technical College System would be down $42,698,712 or 29.8% of state funds.
