UofL faring well financially, despite budget cuts - Ann Bowdan, WLKY

The University of Kentucky is just one of many colleges across the nation that are being hit hard with funding cutbacks, but the problem is not as severe at the University of Louisville. Administrators said critical thinking, critical planning and a successful athletic department have kept the university out of the financial trouble others around the nation are facing. "We are doing well. It's been a hard time for education and higher education nationally and in Kentucky with budget cuts," said UofL President James Ramsey. There have been about $9 million worth of state budget cuts. While they have devastated some universities, UofL said it's holding its own by cutting costs and managing a budget as a collective body.
