Chancellor of NH university system to retire in March 2013 - CAMERON KITTLE, Nashua Telegraph

After 36 years working for the University System of New Hampshire, Chancellor Edward MacKay announced in a statement Friday that he plans to retire next spring.
“There are many crucial tasks to be accomplished during the next eight months, including advocacy for our biennial budget requests and a number of important, long-term collaborative efforts with the Community College System,” MacKay said in a statement. “I am enthusiastic about completing this work and facilitating the continuing evolution and success of the USNH.” House legislators argued that the chancellor’s office budget could be repurposed by the university system to freeze or lower tuition at the state’s four member schools – the University of New Hampshire, Plymouth State University, Keene State College and Granite State College. As of February, MacKay earned a reported salary of $280,000.
