Southern University system president pitches change - Adam Duvernay, Shreveport Times

There are big changes in the works for the Southern University System. System President Ronald Mason was in Shreveport on Saturday on a town hall meeting tour of the state. He spoke to alumni and supporters at the SU Museum of Art downtown. “It’s important as Southernites that we share one vision and march in one direction. This transformation is necessary, but it’s easier to say than it is to do.” Budget cuts and a political climate favoring some higher education systems over others, Mason said, have made improving the Southern System a monumental task over the past few years.
