Knox taps reserve to balance budget - JOHN PULLIAM, The Register-Mail
Knox College officials don’t deny there are financial challenges facing the school, but they said Thursday reports the school will have a $3 million budget deficit this year are not accurate. Tom Axtell, Knox College’s vice president for finance and administrative services, said this is an unusual year. The Board of Trustees typically approves the annual budget in June. This year, the budget will come before the board at the end of this month. “We’re starting a capital campaign and we’ve retained a market consultant,” Axtell said, explaining there will be costs associated with the campaign.
