Texarkana College proposes tax expansion - KTBS

Bowie County, Texas voters will head to the polls next month to decide whether to expand the tax district for Texarkana College. Campus officials have been working for months to get the word out about the election. For the past 15 months, Texarkana College has been making serious internal cuts and now they need voter support. President James Henry Russell says a decline in state funding and years of overspending created the budget shortfall. "The first thing we wanted to do was take a hard look inside the college and do everything we can to get Texarkana College back to its legendary past," said Russell.
