Faculty slam FAU president in survey - Scott Travis, Sun Sentinel

Mary Jane Saunders received a warm welcome from faculty when she arrived at Florida Atlantic University in 2010, but the honeymoon appears to be over. Faculty members panned her performance in a recently released United Faculty of Florida survey. Nearly half of those who responded — 46 percent — rated her performance as below average or poor, while 28 percent said she's above average or excellent. About 16 percent of faculty responded to the survey, which was administered last spring in the midst of budget cuts. The university had just announced reductions in summer school classes, and recommended the closing of several branch campuses. Saunders said she believes the anger is directly correlated to the budget problems, which came after the state cut FAU's appropriation by about $25 million. http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2012-10-28/news/fl-fau-saunders-faculty-20121026_1_faculty-comments-mary-jane-saunders-president-saunders
