U of R prepares for worst - DAVID FRASER, Regina Leader-Post

Professors and students at the University of Regina are concerned over plans for potential budget cuts. On Wednesday, close to 70 professors gathered in a town-hall meeting with university administration to raise questions about proposed changes to faculty structures and cuts if the provincial government didn't increase funding to the university. Currently, the university receives 59 per cent of its operating budget from the provincial government. Thomas Chase, provost and vice-president of academics for the university, said that's a significant decrease from what it once was. Now, faculty members at the university are being asked to consider scenarios where no funding increases from the provincial government are provided. http://www.leaderpost.com/prepares+worst/7550375/story.html
