Ohio University Presidents revise funding model - Paul E. Kostyu, Cincinnati.com

Gov. John R. Kasich promised university presidents not to cut funding to higher education in his next two-year budget after they presented him with a framework for deciding how much each institution should get. Though a specific formula was not announced Friday at a Kasich press conference, the formula rests on improving graduation rates at the state’s two- and four-year institutions. The state’s college presidents agreed overall state funding should be attached to them as a group, not through individual college requests. University of Cincinnati President Santa Ono told The Enquirer afterward the school will do well financially under any of the scenarios developed by higher education leaders. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20121130/NEWS0108/311300099/University-presidents-propose-new-funding-model?nclick_check=1
