Penn State to close Computer Store - Mike Dawson — Centre Daily

The Penn State Computer Store, which sells computers and software at discounted prices to students and employees, will close in the spring, the university reported Friday. Sales at the store, on the first floor of the HUB-Robeson Center, have been decreasing at an “unsustainable rate,” said Janda Hankinson, the director of entrepreneurial services within the university’s Information Technology Services unit. “To best meet the needs of students, faculty and staff, the (u)niversity needs to move away from an economic model that is no longer feasible — and strategically plan for our community’s needs in the future,” Hanksin said in a news release. Penn State’s software licensing programs will be expanded, but the university did not say how. http://www.centredaily.com/2012/12/17/3438089/penn-state-to-close-computer-store.html
