Long-term Wyoming community college budget cuts provoke concern - Aerin Curtis, Wyoming News

Proposed budget cuts for the state's community colleges have officials statewide and at Laramie County Community College concerned about the future. Depending on what the Legislature does during the upcoming session, the state may trim 6 percent from the block grant to colleges and 8 percent from other areas of funding. The 6 percent cut to the colleges' block grant is set to be around $5.7 million, said Matt Petry, deputy director and chief financial officer for the Wyoming Community College Commission. Other funding areas, like college library funding, are proposed to receive an 8 percent cut, he said. http://www.wyomingnews.com/articles/2012/12/29/news/01top_12-29-12.txt
