Texas Tech University System administrators discuss budget with legislators - Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

Tech System Chancellor Kent Hance, Tech Interim President Lawrence Schovanec and Angelo State University President Brian May testified before the House of Representatives appropriations subcommittee. “We made a presentation of our budget and pointed out that the biennium, two years in our budget right now, we got $67 million less than the prior (biennium), yet we had 2,000 more students in the system,” Hance said Thursday. Health Sciences Center President Tedd Mitchell testifies today. The Tech leaders also told legislators that in 2001, the system got nearly 50 percent of its budget from the state. This year, Hance said, 23 percent of the budget comes from the state. http://lubbockonline.com/local-news/2013-02-14/texas-tech-university-system-administrators-discuss-budget-legislators#.UR_dBB3Yc44
