Bennett College employees to take furloughs - News-Record

All Bennett College employees will take six furlough days over the next two months as the school tries to close a budget deficit. In an April 26 letter to faculty and staff members, interim President Esther Terry wrote that employees must take off two unpaid days in May and four more in June. Terry wrote that the private women’s college will take other steps to improve its fiscal health but did not provide details. “We undertake these unhappy actions only after having determined that they are the best ways that we can responsibly acquit our obligation to maximize both human and material resources for the financial sustainability of the College,” Terry wrote. “We do this so that the College can not only survive, but can thrive.” http://www.news-record.com/home/1161366-91/bennett-college-employees-to-take
