Eastern Kentucky University approves buyout packages to 127 staff employees - THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Eastern Kentucky University says it's giving buyout packages to 127 employees who applied for them and were accepted. The school's executive director of human resources, Gary Barksdale, tells the Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/10MR2r0 ) that most people who chose the buyout are rank-and-file staff workers. The program was not available to faculty or vice presidents. Buyout packages were calculated based on an employee's years of service. They include a $1,500 payment for health insurance costs. http://www.therepublic.com/view/story/94dcbd3a62b146fa8dba7615f2d41ac3/KY--EKU-Buyouts
