The Kansas Legislature approved on Sunday a budget plan that would cut post-secondary institutions by $66 million over the next two years. The Lawrence Journal-World reports the plan imposes a 1.5 percent across-the-board cut each year for two years and also adds a cap on salary expenses. University of Kansas leaders are among those who say the cuts will be harmful. Over the two years, they'll total $5.5 million for KU and $8.3 million for the KU Medical Center, the Journal-World reports.
