Calvin College cuts 22 jobs - WZZM
Calvin College is moving to reduce its $115 million budget deficit by cutting staff. The school told staff this week 22 positions will be cut. Five staffers were told they would lose their jobs. The other cuts were implemented in recent months as open positions were not filled. In a letter to faculty and staff, Calvin president Michael Le Roy said, "These staff will receive transition assistance from the college, including pay and benefits, based on years of service. While these reductions are difficult for those of us who take responsibility for these decisions, I hope you will join me by conveying a full measure of compassion, prayer, and support for those directly affected by these layoffs."
