Many college grads face crushing debts - Nashua Telegraph

The Telegraph’s series of stories, “Degrees of Debt,” showed how these crushing debt loads force most graduates to put off many decisions that come with adulthood, like buying a house, or having kids. Many graduates move back home with mom and dad to keep costs down when facing an extremely lean job market, with more competition than ever for entry level jobs. Why New Hampshire graduates are at such a disadvantage is a complicated mix of reasons, which include low state aid to public universities and colleges, almost zero state financial aid for students directly from the state and a spending campaign by schools trying to keep up with the latest amenities to keep attracting students. The end result is an education that comes with an anti-dowry. Instead of facing the world with a clean slate, graduates are behind the financial 8-ball. http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/opinion/editorials/1006812-465/many-college-grads-face-crushing-debts.html
