State cuts impact PSU tuition - SARAH GOODING, The Morning Sun
Legislative action taken over the weekend didn’t give Pittsburg State University much time to agonize over the funding fallout before yesterday's Board of Regents meeting, at which tuition rates for the upcoming school year were proposed.
The university yesterday presented a proposal to the Kansas Board of Regents to raise tuition by 7.4 percent, meaning each semester will cost an undergraduate student $2,355 in the coming school year. “The actions of the legislature are directly connected to our tuition proposal,” said university president Steve Scott. “The total damage, as I would describe it, was approximately $900,000 in cuts.”
