Financial concerns eliminate need-blind admission at Clark University Clark University - Sam Bonacci, MassLive.com
Financial concerns have prompted Clark University to eliminate its need-blind admission policy and open up admission to a "need-aware" group. "At the end of the admissions decision-making process, after determining that we are reaching the limit of our financial aid budget, we will offer the opportunity to enroll at Clark to a small number of additional students on a need-aware basis," said Clark University President David Angel in an email sent to faculty and students on Feb. 17. The primary criteria for admission of these additional students will remain "academic ability and fit with Clark," he said. The students' admission will be monitored by the Faculty Admissions & Financial Aid Committee and by the Board of Trustees, he said.
