EIU officials talk about how to cut $7M - SAMANTHA BILHARZ, JG-TC
Eastern Illinois University’s Council on University Planning and Budget met Friday to discuss possible ways to cut $7 million in the university’s current appropriated budget over a two-year period. Eastern President Bill Perry announced the decision to cut $7 million during a meeting on Jan. 24 with the Council on University Planning and Budget (CUPB). Perry said the cuts are part of the university’s program analysis initiative for financial sustainability. The $7 million represents 6.7 percent of the university’s appropriated budget of $110 million. Perry added that cuts will start being made in Fiscal Year 2015 and will end in FY 2016.
