Salem Community College eliminates athletics in Fiscal Year 2015 budget - Scott Chappelear, South Jersey Times

The brackets were released for the Region 19 men’s and women’s basketball tournaments Friday, and both Salem Community College squads have opening-round games early next week. The freshmen on those teams also found out Friday that they won’t have a chance to make it two trips in a row next season — because there won’t be a next season. At Thursday night’s monthly meeting of the SCC Board of Trustees the budget for the 2015 fiscal year was unanimously approved, and at the recommendation of the administration funds were reallocated that eliminated all intercollegiate athletics at the school beginning July 1. http://www.nj.com/south-jersey-sports/index.ssf/2014/02/salem_community_college_elimin.html
