University of Akron faces $15 million budget gap - Carol Biliczky, Beacon Journal staff writer

The University of Akron expects to tighten its belt more for the coming year, top administrators told faculty and staff this week. Provost Mike Sherman and Chief Financial Officer David Cummins said UA may reduce administrative costs and will seek new ways to make money. The problem — an anticipated gap of $15 million between revenue and expenses. “We believe it is prudent to be conservative estimating our revenues and aggressive in controlling our expenses so that we have the resources to invest in our future,” Sherman and Cummins wrote in the campuswide email. http://www.ohio.com/news/university-of-akron-faces-15-million-budget-gap-1.471475
