Lane CC facing budget deficit, staff and program cuts - KMTR

Due to a budget shortfall, Lane Community College officials said they are going to have to make cuts to part-time employees. Officials with the college said on Monday that those cuts could extend to full time employees as well. The college says there is a $2 million shortfall this year, and declining enrollment could mean a budget deficit of $10.9-$12.6 million. Officials say declining enrollment and, 'the long-term disinvestment in state community college funding,' are factors for the deficit. The college has already made cuts to part time staff and some low-enrollment programs. http://www.kmtr.com/news/local/Lane-CC-facing-budget-deficit-staff-and-program-cuts-255223261.html
