UM's Mansfield Library to cut 8 percent from budget next year - Martin Kidston, Missoulian

The Mansfield Library at the University of Montana will scale back new media acquisitions and hold off purchasing new subscriptions to help trim 8 percent from its operating budget next fiscal year. The library will continue computer and software services, increase its interlibrary loan efforts and maintain staffing levels and operating hours, which are currently the longest of any library in the state. While the faculty senate has asked UM administrators not to cut the library’s budget any more than what’s planned for academic instruction, administrators say deeper reductions to the library are needed to help balance the university’s general fund while protecting the school’s commitment to students. http://missoulian.com/news/local/um-s-mansfield-library-to-cut-percent-from-budget-next/article_22bb541a-d580-11e3-8eb7-0019bb2963f4.html
