University of Akron increases tuition and cuts programs to balance budget - Karen Farkas, The Plain Dealer

The University of Akron will raise tuition and eliminate at least 20 academic programs to help erase a $15 million deficit in next year’s budget. The board of trustees on Wednesday approved a two percent increase in tuition and the general fee, the maximum allowed by the state. The transportation fee will increase $10 a semester. Tuition and fees will increase $102.88 to $5,130 per semester for undergraduates. Tuition will not be increased for law school students and students at the Wayne College campus or the Medina County University Center.
