Facing lower enrollments, Bradley plans $7 million in budget cuts - Pam Adams, the Journal Star

Bradley University is looking for ways to cut more than $7 million from its budget, partly to compensate for lower-than-expected enrollments in the fall freshman class, but also to address a national trend of declining enrollments. The announcement, made in a campus-wide email sent Tuesday by President Joanne Glasser, comes amid simmering dissatisfaction among some staff and alumni about administrative turnover, student recruiting and contractual obligations involving former and current basketball coaches Jim Les and Geno Ford. But planned budget cuts and restructuring also signify a competitive environment in which the pool of Midwestern high school graduates is declining two to three percent a year. http://www.pjstar.com/article/20140604/NEWS/140609581
