Westfield State University trustees will consider boosting student fees by as much as $435 later this month to offset part of a projected $ 3.4 million budget deficit for the coming fiscal year. The trustees' finance subcommittee voted 6-0 Thursday night to recommend authorizing Interim President Elizabeth Preston to raise the general student fee by no more than $435 if the university receives less than initially expected from the state Legislature.
