Fitchburg State U: Students may pay if no hike in funding - Chris Camire, Sentinel and Enterprise

Students at Fitchburg State University could be forced to pay up to $800 more next year if the Legislature does not increase funding for Massachusetts' nine state universities. In a letter sent to the House and Senate lawmakers negotiating the fiscal 2015 budget, Fitchburg State President Robert Antonucci and leaders of the other state universities requested a $15 million budget increase so they can freeze costs for their students. The presidents said their institutions should not take a back seat to the University of Massachusetts, where there will be no increase in tuition and mandatory fees for in-state undergraduate students in the upcoming academic year. http://www.sentinelandenterprise.com/news/ci_26000642/fsu-students-may-pay-if-no-hike-funding
