Fayetteville State University expects smaller freshman class - Paige Rentz, Fay Observer
When new students enter college classrooms next week, Fayetteville State University expects a significantly smaller freshman class, while other schools expect more solid, if not record, enrollment figures. Although registration won't be finalized for more than a week, Fayetteville State expects a much smaller freshman class this year. Jon Young, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, said Wednesday that the university expects a class of about 500 this year, down from 707 last year. "That's probably the smallest number for a long time," he said.
