University of Hawaii President David Lassner said Thursday he wants to increase the student head count, diversify funding through commercialization and boost the performance of current programs to help balance the university's budget. Lassner, speaking at a luncheon sponsored by Think Tech Hawaii in Downtown Honolulu, said the university cannot rely on tuition and government funds to continue operation and address the extensive backlog of repairs across the system.
