College looks at cutting costs as enrollment declines - Isaac Groves, Times-News

Alamance Community College has to check the couch cushions after learning it has to trim $1.4 million from its budget because of a drop in enrollment. The reduction leaves ACC with $22,879,561 in state funding. The county’s funding to ACC comes to $3,070,115. The state bases its funding to community colleges on enrollment, called full-time equivalent, which is based on the number of hours of classes students take. ACC, like a lot of the state’s 58 community colleges, has seen enrollment decline over the past few years as the job market has improved. http://www.thetimesnews.com/news/top-news/college-looks-at-cutting-costs-a-enrollment-declines-1.366278
