University of Hawaii students march, sit in, to protest anticipated budget cuts - Associated Press

University of Hawaii students marched and held a sit-in Monday to protest anticipated budget cuts. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser (http://bit.ly/1t1YlWM) reports students at the flagship Manoa campus were concerned that the university might cut teaching assistants and take other actions affecting graduate courses. UH Vice-chancellor for academic affairs Reed Dasenbrock says no teaching assistant jobs in the College of Natural Sciences will be cut in the spring semester. He says all core courses will be offered in spring 2015 and there will be no negative impact on classes and degree pathways to graduation from budget decisions. http://www.dailyjournal.net/view/story/2248dc2a477b45d59ca796386ef65d36/HI--UH-Budget-Protest/
