University could face funding loss - Marcus Clem, The Morning Sun

A lot of money must be found in the coming year by the Kansas Legislature, and some of that money could come from higher education. The amount that will ultimately have to be found is a matter of debate. Hawver's Capitol Report of Topeka reported on Nov. 10 that at least $287.7 million in spending reductions will be necessary by the end of the coming legislative term. Josh Barro of The New York Times argued in a Nov. 13 article that a more than $500 million hole is possible, barring significant revenue increases.
