Four questions with U of L president James Ramsey - Marty Finley with James Ramsey, Business First

The largest disappointment, Ramsey said, was going through another year without an increase in state funding for higher education. In fact, he said, higher education took a 1.5 percent cut. "Higher education has not really had a funding increase since 2006," he said. On top of that, some colleges, including the University of North Carolina and the University of Virginia, came under scrutiny nationally, and Ramsey said those scandals can have a larger impact even if they don't have a direct impact on U of L. "It casts a shadow over all of higher education, and makes it harder to do our jobs moving forward," he said.
