Gov. Brown’s budget for Cal State $100 million short of what trustees requested - Josh Dulaney, Long Beach Press Telegram

Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday released a budget that will essentially keep funding for the Cal State University system stagnant, falling well short of what officials in the state’s largest university system had hoped to get. Brown’s $113 billion budget includes a $120 million boost each for the CSU system and University of California systems in 2015-16, which will allow the CSU to enroll just 3,500 new students across its 23 campuses. UC students face potential tuition hikes, which sparked protests across the state last year. http://www.presstelegram.com/social-affairs/20150109/gov-jerry-browns-budget-for-cal-state-university-nearly-100-million-short-of-what-trustees-say-they-need
