Shrinking budgets, enrollment impact SCSU's future - Kari Petrie, St. Cloud Times

New post-recession realities means St. Cloud State University has to rethink how it operates. Declining enrollment, empty buildings and budget deficits have the university looking for ways to strengthen and grow in the future. The university hopes that through innovation it will better serve changing student demands and put itself in a healthier financial situation. "We have not gone back to the world before the recession. We're in a new world," St. Cloud State President Earl H. Potter III said. More students are part time rather than full time. What students expect from on-campus housing has changed, forcing the closure of two residence halls. And the state has reduced how much it contributes to higher education. http://www.sctimes.com/story/news/local/2015/02/08/shrinking-budgets-enrollment-impact-scsus-future/23097517/
