Students who attend private colleges in Connecticut would no longer qualify for a state-funded scholarship program in a move that students and college officials alike say is shortsighted. "I am not thinking about myself," said Ben Yambao, a freshman from Shelton attending Sacred Heart University in Fairfield with the help of a so-called Governor's Scholarship.
