Provost Budget Deficit Raises Questions Among Faculty - GABRIELLA LEE, Cornell Sun

While colleges and administrative units prepare for budget reductions totaling $27.5 million for the upcoming fiscal year, questions about the decision to decrease allocations remain among faculty members across campus. The budget cuts, which will be implemented across the University on July 1, will be made in order to fix a recurring structural deficit of $55 million in the Provost’s budget, The Sun previously reported. While Dean of University Faculty Joseph Burns Ph.D. ’66, astronomy, said most faculty and staff members had not yet heard formal announcements on the cuts, Interim Provost Harry Katz said he had released preliminary reduced budget figures last December. http://cornellsun.com/blog/2015/03/03/provost-deficit-raises-questions-among-faculty/
