Illinois Governor Rauner's Budget Fix Impacts ISU - Central Illinois Proud

Schools across the Land of Lincoln are wondering how they can grow after the new budget bill cuts education funding. "This is something that the university had been expecting since the governor was elected. We had been modeling a potential rescission for this fiscal year," said ISU Spokesman Jay Groves. With Governor Rauner signing the new budget bill, Illinois State University will see a cut of about $1.7 million for this fiscal year. The cut will impact maintenance projects and equipment purchases. With more cuts expected for next year, the university hopes the state will reconsider investing more in public education. http://www.centralillinoisproud.com/story/d/story/governor-rauners-budget-fix-impacts-isu/22082/GSTcW0PDiE-HGRuXBFmjSQ
