Council president: UW budget cut would be felt throughout Whitewater - ANDREA ANDERSON, Gazette Extra

A big concern facing Whitewater with Gov. Scott Walker's proposed 2015-17 budget is the cut in funding UW-Whitewater would take, Whitewater City Council President Patrick Singer said Wednesday. The cut in funding would be felt across the community, Singer said at a budget listening session hosted by Sen. Janis Ringhand and Rep. Andy Jorgensen at UW-Whitewater. “There is a huge impact locally and regionally, let alone to the increase in class sizes on the campus side,” Singer, said. “It's a multiplier that ripples out from the city and outward. I think we're very concerned from that perspective on its impact on businesses and the community as a whole.”
