New S.C. State board seeks true picture of financial problems - Dale Linder-Altman, Times and Democrat

The new South Carolina State University Board of Trustees started work by announcing that it’s a new day for the institution. “What we all have to understand – it’s a new day, May 20. It’s a new board of directors, a new board of trustees,” said Charles Way, who was elected chairman. “This board of trustees is going to have a hell of a lot more oversight over the administration of South Carolina State University, at least for the first six months to a year,” he said. Lawmakers removed the 13-member board of trustees in the face of the university’s financial and accreditation problems. A temporary, seven-member board was put in its place and met for the first time Wednesday. http://thetandd.com/news/new-s-c-state-board-seeks-true-picture-of-financial/article_9478a0d4-6fb5-5e60-9f58-71a85b7a6cb3.html
