Bill to waive tuition concerns community college leaders - Joce Johnson, Statesman Journal

Andrea Henderson, executive director of the Oregon Community College Association, said there is a key difference between Oregon and Tennessee that makes the proposal less viable in this state. "We're 46th in the nation in how we fund post-secondary education," Henderson said, referring to the amount of money Oregon allocates to colleges and universities in comparison to other states in the country. For that reason, Oregon community colleges are not in a place where they can support students enrolling tuition free, she said. http://www.statesmanjournal.com/story/news/education/2015/06/02/bill-waive-tuition-concerns-community-college-leaders/28377071/
