University of Arizona planning to cut jobs, programs to make budget - Associated Press

Officials at the University of Arizona are planning layoffs to help deal with budget cuts. The Arizona Daily Star reported the Arizona Board of Regents' finance committee Wednesday approved a $1.9 billion operating budget for the university and its two medical schools. The budget called for the university to internally cut or reallocate more than $43 million this upcoming school year, including the $28 million funding cut recently imposed by the Legislature. The university's finance officer Gregg Goldman said the school will have to make cuts to its staff. http://ktar.com/22/1839610/University-of-Arizona-planning-to-cut-jobs-programs-to-make-budget
