UWS looks to buyouts, retirements to cover budget cuts - Maria Lockwood, Superior Telegram

The 2015-2017 state budget signed Sunday by Gov. Scott Walker, will add up to the loss of more staff members at University of Wisconsin-Superior as the campus seeks to offset a loss of $851,100 in funding. While the moves still must be accepted, a total of 19 staff — 17 full-time and two part-time — are poised to take buyout and early retirement offers, some of which would not take effect until next fall. If approved, the buyouts will save UWS just under $400,000. That will leave another $451,000 in cuts the northern Wisconsin campus must absorb over the next two years. http://www.superiortelegram.com/news/schools/3785065-uws-looks-buyouts-retirements-cover-budget-cuts
