U Arizona layoffs underway as school cuts $25 million - Kelly Presnell, Arizona Daily Star

The trickle-down effect of state budget cuts is about to hit home at the University of Arizona, where layoffs are underway as part of a bid to trim more than $25 million from the Tucson school’s overhead. UA’s deans and senior executives recently learned how much money each of them must cut to make ends meet, and some are in the final throes of deciding who stays and who goes.
