Tulane to offer buyouts, consider layoffs - WWL

Tulane University will be offering a 'voluntary separation' program for employees in an attempt to reduce the school's work force, according to an Operational Review posted to the campus web site. An email from President Mike Fitts said details about the buyout program would be sent to eligible employees by Oct. 21. In the email, Fitts said if the amount of savings achieved through voluntary separation is not achieved, layoffs may be required. "It is not our intention to force valuable Tulane employees to apply for the Voluntary Separation Program," said the email. "However, if we do not achieve the necessary dollars savings through the voluntary phase, we will likely have to consider additional measures, such as non-voluntary layoffs." http://www.wwltv.com/story/news/local/orleans/2015/10/13/tulane-buyouts-layoffs/73866712/
