Colleges must act boldly toward affordability - TODD HUTTON, Utica Observer Dispatch

With a new academic year underway, college campuses across America are filled with new students who have bought the promise of opportunity that comes with a higher education degree. In fact, today’s students believe the No. 1 reason to attend college is “to be able to get a better job,” which is considered very important to 86 percent of first-year students. These students recognize that the well-paying jobs of the future require a college degree. Even now in the state of New York, workers with a bachelor’s degree earn about 80 percent more than those with only a high school degree. http://www.uticaod.com/article/20151025/OPINION/151029716/
