As University of Montana faces budget cuts, some professors seize on work still taking place - KEILA SZPALLER - Missoulian

The University of Montana is facing a budget crisis that may slash 201 faculty and staff jobs, along with $10 million to $12 million from the 2017 fiscal year budget. Students and faculty members are questioning the leadership at UM and the commitment to its core liberal arts mission, and the ramifications of the crisis and cuts aren't yet known. At the same time, vital research continues, and some professors are seizing on good work still taking place in the trenches.
