Rock Valley College layoffs hit top-level, part-time employees - Corina Curry, RR Star

Layoffs approved at Rock Valley College on Monday night hit all levels of the organization Tuesday from associate vice president and deans to systems technicians and maintenance workers. The Rockford Register Star obtained the names, titles and salaries of the 30 who were laid off. The list will be made public at the Rock Valley College Board of Trustees' next meeting Tuesday. The salaries and benefits of all 30 people who lost their jobs amount to nearly $1.5 million. Salaries and benefits for an additional 14 vacant positions that were eliminated amount to an additional $621,596.
